Recreation.gov (RIDB) — Campground Photos

No licence asserted (terms under review)

Photos mirrored from the Recreation Information Database (RIDB) Media export. Each photo displays its original credit and links back to the photo's original URL on Recreation.gov.

RIDB's media credits mix federal agencies with third-party photographers and vendors, and OpenCamp has not been able to confirm a single usage licence that covers all of them, so no licence is shown or claimed for these photos while the terms are being confirmed — only the credit and a link to the original are shown per photo.

Wikimedia Commons & Wikidata — Campground and Park Photos

Photos sourced from Wikimedia Commons, resolved via Wikidata and OpenStreetMap tags. Each photo displays its specific licence, linked to the licence text, alongside a link to its Commons source page.

Only photos under a free licence are accepted: CC0, public domain, CC BY, or CC BY-SA (any version). Non-commercial (NC) and no-derivatives (ND) licences are rejected, as are unrecognized or missing licences. Most photos are matched directly to the campground itself; where a campground has none of its own, a photo of the surrounding park may be shown instead and is captioned with the park's name so it isn't mistaken for a photo of the campground.

Photos added by OpenCamp users, either attached to a review or uploaded directly from a campground page.

Most user photos are held for moderator review before they're shown publicly; uploads from trusted contributors and site admins publish immediately. Once live, photos are shown as submitted — OpenCamp does not assert any licence for them.
